Canyoning is a way of moving through watercourses, often gorges or ravines, often found in the mountains. Jumps, slides and abseils of varying heights will be your obstacles of the day, with pools in between. Each canyon is unique, so the level of difficulty and commitment will be specific to each trip and/or itinerary. These can be adapted to suit the age and level of the participants, so that the fun remains at the heart of the activity.
More than a sport, it's above all a way of discovering an environment that is often inaccessible, exceptional and of wild natural beauty. Discover the long struggle between water and rock over time, challenge yourself or relax and enjoy an experience that's as refreshing as it is unforgettable.
The Blache gorges follow the Sauzet torrent and take you between the Costeplanne waterfalls and the Ubaye river. Lost between the mountains and the river, you'll have the chance to perfect your abseiling techniques and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. The first part, shared with Costeplanne, is the easiest and most enjoyable. You will be able to practise abseiling independently and safely up to a height of 12 metres. The 2nd part reveals all the sporting potential of the canyon with a series of 3 magnificent waterfalls of up to 30m. All this between vertiginous walls and an exceptional setting, ending on the banks of the Ubaye and its "fosse aux lions" (a famous passage for rafters and kayakers). The return trip is via ferratta to complete an adrenalin-fuelled adventure with plenty of water!
We'll provide you with all the thermal and safety equipment you need and our qualified guide will be on hand to help you, whether you want to challenge yourself, improve your skills or share a sporting moment with family and friends.
Special conditions: As the canyon is relatively long and quite technical in part 2, good physical condition and a good affinity with water are recommended.
Some of the passages can be impressive, with heights of up to 30m. Some of the jumps and rappelling can be adapted and/or braked by the guide according to your fears and the conditions. If you have a severe fear of heights, we can suggest alternative locations for the activity to make you feel more comfortable.
As canyoning is a weather-sensitive activity (thunderstorms, heavy rain), the activity may be postponed or cancelled if conditions make this necessary for obvious safety reasons.
